Crug Mawr

There is another wonder in the country called Ceredigion.  There is a mountain there called Crug Mawr, and a tomb on top of it, and whoever comes to the tomb and lies beside it, however short he is, the tomb is found to be as long as the man, and if he be a long tall man, even if he were four cubits long, the tomb is found to be as long as the man.  And every traveller who is weary, if he kneels three times before it, he will never be worried by weariness again to the day of his death, even if he should go by himself to the ends of the earth.

Nennius, The Wonders of Britain, c.796 AD

O the complex planes of your body

or the gold of your eyes

the infinity of imperfections

brought to consensus

making one perfection

Your feet turned in

(an error in the articulation at your hips)

Your efficiency

O how it all hugs in a gilt membrane over my mind.

And whichever of these presents itself

my mind's arid bowl registers

the same miracle displacement

brimful

O, and if I cock my hat

three times at this brimful

say I may never be worried by weariness again

to the day of my death

as I go by myself to the ends of the earth

forgetting I do not wear a hat.
